Editing Services

Novels, short stories, poetry, essays, non-fiction, fiction, flash fiction!

My service packages:

Developmental Edit/Preliminary:  $1.00 per page*  I complete a glorified beta reading with developmental editing notations. This round gives you feedback about scenes, characters and plot.  It offers you insight about your themes, red flags and any ambiguity. You will receive notes and track changes.

Full Edit: $2.00 per page*  This package will focus on word choice, sentence structure, tense usage, flow, character consistency, POV, items of social responsibility that may be present and above all — keeping your voice.  I will do global notes and chapter notes. You will receive track changes and comments.

Revisit: Let’s talk and see what fits your budget. After you’ve reviewed the notes, you’ll return the work to me for additional review. I feel authors should get different feedback during their process and encourage everyone to find beta readers and/or work with multiple editors.

I am not a professional copy editor, but I have advanced education in grammar. I love grammar and punctuation and notice many errors by nature. If you do not want me to look at grammar in a full edit, please let me know.

I can also combine elements of the above services to meet your needs.

Are you interested in working together? Please contact me: starscrollediting@live.com or visit the “Contacts” section.

Special notes:

*One page is the industry standard of 250 words.

We will negotiate a timeline before payment.

If your work  is between 100,000 and 125,000 words, I will charge the price for 400 pages (100,000 words).

Are we a good match? If you would like a sample of my style and what I offer, please contact me. I will complete a full edit on 3,750 words for $20. (Full-edit notes on excerpts are not as flushed out.)

The length of time it takes to edit a novel depends on its length and my current schedule.

I will schedule on a first come, first serve basis. If your novel isn’t complete, we can still talk about your editing goals.
